On March 24, during Glass for Europe’s General Assembly, Joana Arreguy, glass industrial director at Saint-Gobain, was elected chairwoman of the board of directors of Glass for Europe.
Arreguy began her career in Saint-Gobain in 2011 and has since then held different managerial positions in supply chain management, technical and industrial affairs. Arreguy is now responsible for the industrial direction of upstream and downstream transformation and the supply of flat glass and glazing products throughout all regions.
“I am honoured to join Glass for Europe as chairwoman,” says Arreguy.
“I am particularly thrilled to continue the work already engaged in Glass for Europe to ensure the future position of the flat glass industry in a climate neutral Europe. Our sector shall continue to provide solutions to cut CO2 emissions in buildings and in the mobility sector. I know the responsibilities which are ours: to look for all opportunities to decarbonize our industrial processes while staying competitive. Europe’s flat glass manufacturing sector shall continue leading the way.”
During the General Assembly, Jean Ries, director government and public affairs with Guardian Europe was elected vice-chairman of the board.
