Mapes Industries Celebrates 70 Years

Mapes Industries, a family-owned business that specializes in architectural panels and canopies, celebrates its 70th anniversary in 2022.

Mapes Industries, which encompasses both Mapes Panels and Mapes Canopies, was founded by J.S. Mapes in 1952 to manufacture laminated metal panels for storefront remodeling and wall-facing purposes.

“Mapes’ longevity is a result of values and customer-first approach that you seem to only find in a family-owned business,” Matt Parde, president of Mapes Canopies said. “Not just meeting expectations but doing our very best to exceed them on a daily basis. This approach means that you have to always look for what is next as well as stay resilient and flexible in an ever-changing marketplace. To do this, you must have a great team, supportive leadership and good business partners. Mapes has the strongest base it has ever had and is prepared to take on whatever lies ahead for the next 70 plus years.”

Under the canopy of Mapes Industries, Mapes Panels has worked to become the preeminent manufacturer of commercial architectural glazing products. As a result, Mapes Panels’ laminated insulated metal panel has evolved over the years to keep pace with the demands of innovation and forward-thinking. Its panels are distributed to more than 4,000 architectural glass and glazing dealers throughout the nation, Canada and the Caribbean.

The company provides an array of materials, ranging from Mapes-R panels, which improve the thermal efficiency of a window, spandrel, curtainwall and glazing applications, along with Mapes R+, MapeStop fire-resistant panels, MapeShield impact resistant panels, MapeShape formed edge panels, Mapes seamless structurally glazed panels, MapeSpan insulated spandrel glass panels, and veneer and glazing panels.
