Consolidated Glass Corp. (CGC) announced that construction started on a new glass lamination line that is set to be operational by early 2023.
A new 15,000-square-foot building designed to house the line is expected to be completed in the coming months. CGC announced that the glass lamination line will be installed and operational by the first quarter of 2023. The new line will allow CGC to expand its product offerings, said Shane Merryman, president and CEO of CGC.
Merryman added that the investment will also allow the company to dive into various new markets, including bullet-resistant glass, government defense, glass handrails, office partitions and decorative glass applications.
“Seeing this vision become a reality is a dream come true,” Merryman said. “This exciting addition to our operation will allow us to begin servicing new markets while propelling Consolidated Glass Corp. forward into the next phase of our long-term growth plan.”
Merryman said that the new facility will create an additional five to 10 jobs and increase speed-to-market and quality control. The facility ties into the company’s three-year plan of 50% growth, while its five-year plan calls to double the size of CGC with an additional 20 jobs created.
According to Merryman, the new line was a strong strategic investment that will provide full service to existing and new customers.
“Past experiences have brought us to the conclusion that this market would strongly benefit from a laminated glass provider who prioritizes quality and lead times,” Merryman said.
Best of luck with your new adventure Shane and the team! You’ll do great.
