Allegion Americas hosted local high school students during its first in-person Manufacturing Day since 2019.
Students who participated in this year’s event toured Allegion’s Snoqualmie, Wash., manufacturing location, where employees produce TGP fire-rated and architectural glass and framing.
Held annually on the first Friday in October with events that continue throughout the month, Manufacturing Day helps show the reality of modern manufacturing careers. The event encourages companies and educational institutions around the nation to open their doors to students, parents, teachers and community leaders.
“With the manufacturing industry and our workforce evolving, there’s never been a more opportune time for manufacturers to engage the next generation of workers,” says general manager Devin Bowman. “That’s why we join with the National Association of Manufacturers every October to show local students that modern manufacturing jobs require innovative technology, creative thinking and complex problem-solving. It is incredibly valuable work — at Technical Glass Products (TGP) and Allegion, our products play a major role in helping keep people and buildings safe.”

Allegion employs more than 150 workers at its Snoqualmie manufacturing location. The manufacturer uses its annual Manufacturing Day event to cultivate relationships with Washington schools. As a result, students can see manufacturing jobs up close and hear from Allegion employees on the innovation that is inherent to the industry and their jobs today.
