NSG Group announced glass operations are in full swing at its second float glass plant in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

NSG Group, a supplier of glass and glazing systems in the business areas of architectural, automotive and creative technology, began construction on the float glass plant in 2018. The company expected a start date of 2020; however, global market concerns forced the company to postpone the opening. The start of production was instead pushed back to Oct. 8, 2022.

The new float line is one of NSG Group’s strategic investments in Argentina and South America.

“Despite a challenging macroeconomic environment, demand continues to outpace supply for glass due to still growing construction activity,” NSG Group wrote in a statement. “We believe that the region is a promising market where it can continue to demonstrate our business strength.”

The company says it has established a “strong position that will support its customers to create people-friendly surroundings and living spaces that are pleasant, safe and healthy while also lowering the usage of air-conditioning and heating with adequate glass solutions.”
