GlassBuild America enters its final day on Thursday following two days of events, seminars and networking opportunities. Exhibitors and visitors around the world flocked to the Las Vegas Convention Center to see the latest products and learn more about the future of the glass, glazing and fenestration industry.
For many exhibitors, this year’s trade show was a great opportunity to explore all aspects of the industry. ICD High Performance Coatings + Chemistries’ owner and CEO Kris Vockler says the event was well-attended this year compared to years past.
“There are more people than ever,” she says. “It got a little light for a long time. There weren’t as many people. This one, though, feels like one of the most attended and busiest. It has a bit of a glasstec feel where people are stacked up to talk to you. It’s been really good.”
Vockler thinks the reason for the increased participation is that people just want to get out, see and hug others. Hosting it in Las Vegas doesn’t hurt either, she adds.
Personalization and Creative Freedom
For many exhibitors, GlassBuild is the perfect time to show new products. M3 Glass Technologies took the opportunity to showcase its new backpainted glass and printed products. Erika Kelley, a product line manager at M3, says the company aims to offer more custom decorative interior glasswork.
“Right now, M3 is making a transition into decorative backpainted glass,” she says. “One of the things that we are focusing on now is our backpainted glass and printing. We want to be able to do a lot more custom decorative interior glasswork.”
One of M3’s newest products is a mobile whiteboard, called a “glass mobile.” The product allows you to take your whiteboard and move it around as well as customize it with any glass color that you want.
“It gives our customers the ability to have that creative freedom and still have that personalization,” says Kelley.
GlassBuild 2022 was a first for Reed Rubber Products. The manufacturer of thermoplastic rubber seals and weatherstripping for the fenestration industry presented its first booth at the annual trade show. Alexandra Reed, a market developer at Reed, says the company took the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the show.
“It’s all a learning experience,” says Reed. “It’s really cool to see. We are just trying to learn a lot about how GlassBuild works and how to make our booth stand out. It’s been good.
