Obituary: Bill Cintani, Mapes Industries

Bill Cintani, Mapes Industries CEO, passed away on Dec. 10, 2022. Cintani joined Mapes in Lincoln, Neb., in 1978 and became owner and operator in 1986. He led the company through a long period of growth that continued until his death.

Cintani was also a member of the board of directors of Hampton Enterprises, Assurity and Nelnet. He served on community, non-profit and charitable boards, including the Lincoln Community Foundation, Bryan Hospital, Bryan Heart, Chancellor’s Board of Counselors and UNMC, Junior Achievement, LIBA, Lincoln Economic Recovery Task Force and Vision 2015, among others.

Additionally, Cintani was an avid fisherman, and in 2018 joined his late father as a Master Angler in the Minnesota Fishing Museum Hall of Fame.

Cintani is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marilyn Cintani, of Lincoln. Other survivors include his four children and their spouses, Brian and Jennifer Cintani, David and Mary Cintani, Michael and Rebecca Cintani, and Laura and Kendall Frantz, all of Lincoln; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ellen and Mike Armes, Wrightstown, Pa; Karen and Dean Jefferys, Newtown, Pa; brother, James Cintani, Ellwood City, Pa.; five grandchildren, Greyson Frantz, Eleanor Cintani, Kennedy Frantz, Alexander Cintani, and Rachel Cintani, all of Lincoln; longtime friends, Rich Bailey, Lincoln, Dick Doyle, Richboro, Pa., Mitch Huff, Raleigh, N.C., Rick Shaw, Wayne, Pa., and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Susan Slack.
