The Permasteelisa Group is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2023. The global contractor, which was ranked second on USGlass magazine’s listing of the top contract glaziers in 2022, traces its roots to 1973 with the founding of I.S.A.
I.S.A. was an aluminum window company based in Treviso, Italy, now home to the Group’s headquarters. Shortly after its founding, I.S.A. turned its attention to curtainwalls and acquired Permasteel, the Australian company that clad the Sydney Opera House, which is where the name Permasteelisa originated.
Throughout the years, the company expanded globally and acquired various other businesses, such as Dutch Scheldebouw B.V. and the German group Gartner.
Permasteelisa has worked on many major projects worldwide, including Hong Kong’s tallest building, the International Commerce Center; Beekman Tower, the Guggenheim Museum and MoMA in New York; and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, among others. The company currently has more than 60 projects underway, including Google offices in London and the U.S.
The Permasteelisa Group is located on four continents and in 20 countries, with three brands and a network of 30 companies, generating a turnover of $1 billion annually, according to the announcement.
In honor of its 50th anniversary, the company created a new logo consisting of a broken line unfolding upwards to represent a building under construction, while knowledge and ideas keep evolving.
