Onyx Solar, a producer of photovoltaic glass technology, completed what it says is the largest photovoltaic integration project on the African continent at the Sterling Bank headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria. The 6,500 square meters of crystalline silicon photovoltaic glass and 1 MW installed power will allow Sterling Bank to save energy costs and reduce its carbon footprint, according to the company.
The project features 3,250 photovoltaic glasses of 2,000- by 1,000 mm in blue to match Sterling Bank’s aesthetic requirements.
Onyx Solar says its photovoltaic glass is easy to install and maintain, meaning the Nigerian bank can take advantage of the active and passive properties of this technology.
