YKK AP America Inc. has partnered with cove.tool to help building product manufacturers engage design teams earlier in the product selection process. Cove.tool is a provider of building design and construction software.
The partnership will integrate YKK AP’s products into the software company’s recently released revgen.tool. This cloud-based program allows architects to determine which products fit best for any given program using real-time, product and project-specific performance analysis.
YKK AP officials state the company is the first fenestration manufacturer to embed the program into its website.
“As a building product manufacturer, we are focused on ensuring that every product and process we develop help secure a more sustainable future, with the ultimate goal to reduce carbon emissions to 50% by 2030,” says Mike Turner, YKK AP’s senior vice president of marketing and sales. “This makes our partnership with cove.tool a natural fit. We understand how crucial the early collaboration between architects, engineers and building product manufacturers is to meet a project’s energy-saving goals. And now with revgen.tool, architects will have the data they need at their fingertips to make decisions that will benefit their project and, ultimately, the built environment.”
Architects will be able to use the software on YKK AP’s website starting mid-summer. YKK AP officials state that by using this feature, architects can gain insights into embodied carbon, cost and energy performance, empowering them to achieve their energy-saving objectives for a given project effectively.
