The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) has hired Jason Weber as its vice president of government affairs and operations.

The Aluminum Extruders Council has hired Jason Weber as its vice president of government affairs and operations.

Weber arrives with more than 25 years of experience in the aluminum extrusion industry. He previously held various positions with aluminum extrusion companies, including Taber Extrusions, Alumax, Alcoa, Sapa and Hydro Extrusions North America.

Weber has experience in global sales, marketing, business development and manufacturing. As an active member of the AEC, he previously led volunteer efforts in market development, marketing and industry promotion. Additionally, AEC officials say that Weber has actively supported the industry efforts in trade and government relations.

“Jason’s broad business management and government relations experience make him well suited to take on this new role within AEC,” says president Jeff Henderson. “With the Council’s growing role in trade efforts to save the North American Aluminum Extrusion Industry from unfair and illegal imports, additional staff support is needed. I have known Jason through my past career in the aluminum extrusion industry and know his talents and abilities will complement our current proficient staff.”

Weber will lead AEC’s efforts in government affairs and public policy issues. He will also support other AEC programs, including marketing and future staff liaison to the ET Seminar Committee.

“I am beyond excited to join the staff of the AEC,” says Weber. “I am looking forward to working on behalf of the aluminum extrusion industry to preserve, protect and improve this industry for future generations to come.”
