The American Institute of Architects (AIA) and Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope® (OBE) are announcing the continuation of their strategic partnership during 2020. This year’s partnership will continue to focus on fostering dialogue, engagement and innovation between OBE and AIA architect members. Additionally, AIA and OBE will be researching how the performance of building facades (envelopes) can be optimized for energy efficiency and carbon reduction.

“Access to innovative teams and resources that assist our members in their careers and business is a top priority,” says AIA executive vice president and CEO Robert Ivy. “Having a reputable partner like Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope®—who understands our need to serve the architect community and is actively engaged in key industry topics—helps us fulfill a critical part of our mission.”

The strategic partnership—in its second year—is the first of its kind for AIA and a building products company.

“We look forward to continuing our partnership with AIA and furthering our collaboration and commitment to the architect community,” says Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope® president Nathan Creech. “We’ve spent the last year better understanding the current challenges architects are facing in the built environment. As a result, we’re making improvements in product innovation, better addressing sustainability and providing the resources that will support architects in responding to the needs of the market.”
