Aldora Aluminum and Glass Products hired Don Burgess as a sales representative in the Orlando area and eastern Florida.

Burgess, previously an owner of a glass shop, brings more than 40 years of experience in the glass and glazing industry, mostly as an outside sales representative.

The hiring of Burgess, according to Aldora, is in conjunction with the opening of the company’s new Orlando facility. The installation of a tempering oven, laminating line, insulating line and fabrication equipment at the facility is near completion.

Aldora also announced it is in the process of upgrading equipment at its Charleston location.  “Due to increased demand of fabricated glass products and the age of the existing equipment, Aldora has ordered new equipment that will increase production speed and quality of product,” a release from the company reads.

Included in the purchase is a new true convection furnace, capable of tempering 84-by-196-inch lites of glass. Thicknesses range from 1/8 to ¾ inches, including low-E soft coats. According to Aldora, the furnace is ordered with installation slated for late third/early fourth quarter of 2015, and the company also has a CNC waterjet on order for the third quarter of 2015. In the fourth quarter, the Charleston location is due to receive a jumbo cutting table.
