All Weather Architectural Aluminum was recognized by the Workforce Development Board (WDB) of Solano County for its programs to provide local job opportunities. The Vacaville, Calif.-based company was named the 2023 “Workforce Heroes” award winner in WDB’s Large Business category.

The Large Business category recognizes businesses with more than 25 employees that have provided opportunities that make a difference. Efforts include engaging with local schools, building development and training programs and implementing programs that create pathways directly into manufacturing for high school students, such as All Weather’s new apprenticeship program.

“We were delighted and humbled when city council member Mike Silva announced us as the winner,” says Sarah Harper, president of All Weather. “We have operated our custom door and window manufacturing business in Vacaville for nearly 50 years and will continue to support our community workforce in the future.”

All Weather partnered with the Solano WDB to offer a 12-week paid summer internship program for young adults, exposing them to the manufacturing industry. The company also supported Vacaville and the Solano-Napa Small Business Development Center, offering a meeting location for Vacaville’s Manufacturers Roundtable Group.

WDB is a nonprofit organization that works to build and sustain a skilled workforce, support a vibrant economy and create a shared prosperity for the community of Solano County, Calif.
