ASSA ABLOY has acquired Bird Home Automation GmbH, a developer and manufacturer of IP-based video door intercoms, access control devices, indoor stations and accessories operating under the trademark DoorBird.

DoorBird has around 110 employees and is headquartered in Berlin, Germany. It also has sales offices in San Francisco and Jacksonville.

According to DoorBird, its door intercoms have been installed in more than 160 countries since 2014.

Advantages of the door intercoms include burglary prevention, the ability to receive parcels at any time, visitor history reports and smart home connectivity.
