A glass balustrade at a popular nightclub in Mexico shattered this past weekend, killing at least two people and injuring more than a dozen others. The incident happened at the Rich Bar in San Luis Potosi, several hundred miles northwest of Mexico City.

According to media reports, the victims were at a Kevin Moreno concert when a section of the third-floor glass barrier on the staircase leading to the club collapsed, sending people plummeting 40 feet to the ground.

Based on reports, the club was packed for the event, which caused dozens of people to gather in its exterior hallways. The pressure exerted against the glass railings proved too much, culminating in its collapse.

“The constant and uncontrolled presence of people attending this event caused one of the railings on the third floor of this building to give way under pressure and lead to this tragedy, which claimed the lives of two people, according to the information we have so far,” town hall representative Jorge Hernandez told the Daily Express.
