Doug Mangus

Doug Mangus, longtime machinery sales director with Salem Distributing Co., has been selected to head up the soon-to-open Bovone North America. Mangus was selected as general manager based on the important experience gained over numerous years of working side by side with Bovone’s Italian headquarters, according to the company.

Mangus was selected due to his deep knowledge of Bovone and its history, values and processes, combined with experience as machine sales director for Salem, distributor of Bovone machinery in the North American market.

“As one of our own, Doug is the obvious choice for this position as general manager for Bovone N.A. He has assessed operations, consulted on and sold machinery and is the pivotal contact for Salem’s customers,” says Mike Willard, CEO/owner of Salem.

Bovone has been selling machinery in the North American market, through Salem, for 45 years.  Bovone chose to have its American headquarters located close to Salem’s headquarters to guarantee a widespread presence, more timely assistance and quick and personalized answers to American and Canadian customers, according to the company.

“We are excited about this new venture,” says Federica Bovone, CEO of Elettromeccanica Bovone Srl, “and the time has come that we expand into this market with a physical location and staff so we can continue to effectively and efficiently meet the demands of our loyal customer base.”

Bovone N.A. is strategically located in North Carolina. It intends to be fully operational starting in 2020 with a complete management and operational team. This move is intended to make it easier and faster to integrate data for robotics, prepare and install machinery, and service its customers in the entire North American market.

“With Mangus in his new position, and through this collaboration, Salem and Bovone will continue to provide excellent customer service to existing customers along with actively developing new prospects,” says both Willard and Bovone.
