Caldwell Hardware (UK) Ltd. (Caldwell) announced today the acquisition of Cotswold Architectural Products Ltd (Cotswold) of Cheltenham, England, and its operable window hardware lines.

Caldwell managing director Alistair MacAulay describes the acquisition as “an ideal fit for both Caldwell and Cotswold by bringing together two of the most respected names in the UK door and window markets.”

“The Cotswold lines will be complementary to the Magnum range of friction stays already offered by Caldwell’s Advantage Manufacturing division located in Victor, N.Y., says Caldwell president and CEO Eric Mertz.

The business units will continue to operate as two separate entities.

Cotswold was founded in 1974 in Cheltenham, England. Caldwell’s headquarters has been based in Rochester, N.Y., since its founding in 1888. It maintains manufacturing facilities in Williamsport, Md., Pence Springs, W. Va., Juarez, Mexico, and Coventry, England, as well as distribution warehouses in El Paso, Texas, and Alachua, Fla.
