Vitrum Glass Group, western Canada’s largest glass fabricator, recently hosted its second biennial Glass Fabrication Meets Design at its head office and fabrication facility in Langley, B.C. The event, held November 4, saw a record attendance of more than 100 architects and specification writers, with guests from Vancouver to San Francisco.

Architects, spec writers and interior designers were invited to attend an exclusive tour of Vitrum’s fabrication facility. Tour highlights included: insulating glass, tempering, heat-soaking, laminating, custom glass fabrication, silk-screening and spandrel glass. The tour continued with a visit to Apex Aluminum Extrusions, British Columbia’s only aluminum extruder, where attendees had the chance to see aluminum being extruded into architectural products, followed by fabrication, anodizing and finishing.

Two educational workshops were also held, consisting of interactive presentations where architects had the opportunity to earn continuing education credits.
