Vitrum S.r.l. recently hosted its Best Tech Award Ceremony to celebrate the top technologies exhibited at Vitrum 2023, held this past September in Milan, Italy.

The awards recognized the best technologies displayed during the international glass industry trade show comprising four categories:

  • Accessories, Components and Other Glass Technologies;
  • Software, Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence (AI);
  • Robots and Automation; and
  • Flat Glass Technologies.

The award for the Accessories, Components and Other Glass Technologies category went to Tecnovati Com S.r.l. The company offers energy-efficient products, such as Tecno Sunblock thermochromic glass, which reduces heating and direct sunlight.

Softsolution GmbH received a Best Tech award for the Software, Virtual Reality and AI category. The company provides tools for improved process control and glass fabrication. Adelia Lattuada S.r.l. took home the award for Robots and Automation. It exhibited a variable angle edging machine with 13 grinding wheels and a KUKA robot. The robot is not attached to the floor but moves at high speed along a dedicated track, allowing it to reach a maximum speed of 2.35 m/s.

Forel SpA won the Best Tech award for the Flat Glass Technologies category. It displayed all eight of its patents developed during the year, including application of a thermoplastic spacer profile.
