YKK AP Upgrades Georgia Manufacturing Facility

YKK AP America has completed a $2 million renovation to its commercial manufacturing facility. The 1-million-square-foot facility, located in Dublin, Ga., houses multiple manufacturing processes and includes 50,000 square feet of office space, where most of the renovations took place.

In addition to cosmetic upgrades such as new floors, ceilings and work stations, energy-efficient lighting and insulation improvements were also included in the renovation. The company expects to reduce utility costs with these upgrades as well as the facility’s carbon footprint.

The facility’s vertical manufacturing processes allow everything from materials development to equipment design to happen under one roof, making it possible to adjust production capacity, according to the company.

“Our team expressed the desire for a more innovative workspace—one that would energize them—and we listened. Our exceptional team deserves to work in an environment that is conducive to productivity and satisfaction…,” says Patrys Wiid, vice president of organizational excellence at YKK AP America.

Wolverine Glass Products Expands Michigan Facility

In celebration of 29 years in business, Wolverine Glass Products (WGP) has moved to a newly-renovated 130,000-square-foot facility in Grand Rapids, Mich.

As part of the expansion, the company has added a 96-inch by 198-inch full convection North Glass tempering furnace, sold, installed and serviced by HHH Tempering Resources. With this addition, the company is adding a full-line commercial glass interior wall system to its offerings.

“We’ve been tempering oversized glass on our existing 84-inch by 180-inch HHH Tempering furnace for five years. As we planned for a future with larger glass specifications, it made sense to expand our oversized glass capabilities with our long-time tempering equipment partners at HHH Tempering Resources,” says WGP vice president Rodger Ruff.

The newly remodeled facility allows WGP to consolidate all glass fabrication processes into one building and integrate FeneVision production management, according to the company.
