Peerless Products to Expand Operations, Creating 111 Jobs

Peerless Products Inc. is putting its money into Nevada—but not in the way you might be thinking. The commercial and architectural window manufacturer will invest $3.5 million to expand its Nevada, Mo., operations. The expansion will create 111 new jobs and increase production capacity at the existing facility, which is used for warehousing, manufacturing and research and development.

Peerless has operated in the Missouri city since 2019 and employs more than 40 people there in sales, marketing and logistics. In addition to adding 111 new jobs, the expansion includes new machinery and equipment. Renovations and updates of the 220,000-square-foot location are underway.

“We have expansions in the manufacturing side of things that we have to develop into, and this facility is going to give that opportunity,” says Jeremiah Richards, innovative solutions director for Peerless. “Western Missouri, Eastern Kansas, these are places that have hardworking people that build good quality products. I think over the course of this year, the facility, getting it back up to standards to be a manufacturing plant is the goal, and with that comes certain aspects. Right now, it’s a finished goods facility only. We hope to make it somewhat of a raw goods facility.”

Gamco Corp. Alters Production to Improve Lead Times, Prices

In response to various economic challenges, Gamco Corp. is altering its production process. Melora Chang, vice president for marketing, sales and administrative operations, says “We proactively developed new suppliers to add to our existing ones, giving us flexibility and options. As a result of more suppliers on board, we are seeing improvements in the inventory we maintain. This in turn allows us to manage lead times much more closely and give our customers the best options.”

Supply chain, material availability and labor challenges have brought a shift in how companies do business.

“We developed a new, comprehensive R&D training program with our experienced engineers and project managers to help provide a seamless onboarding experience for new hires, expediting the ramp-up time for engineers to support sales quoting and take-offs,” adds Lelina Chang, president, and head of operations.
