Switzerland-based dormakaba signed an agreement to acquire U.S. commercial door and hardware company Mesker Openings Group for $142.5 million. It expects to close the transaction in 2016, according to a release from dormakaba.

“The acquisition of Mesker is a continuation of the industrial logic underlying the merger to dormakaba and a consistent implementation step of our strategy for North America,” says CEO Riet Cadonau. “It will expand our offering in North America to include all essential door components as well as secure access to buildings and rooms from a single source.”

Mesker, founded in 1864 is based in Huntsville, Ala. And has five manufacturing and distribution facilities in various regions of the U.S. It has approximately 400 employees and generated turnover of approximately $67 million in 2015.
