Gavin Mair

Gavin Mair, former CEO of Sinclair Glass, died September 28, 2018 at the age of 75. Born December 24, 1942 in Ayrshire, Scotland, he immigrated to Toronto, Canada, in the early 1960s. He later moved to Southern California where he worked as a sales representative. In 1970, he moved to Hartford City, Ind., where Mair took on the role of vice president of sales for Sinclair Glass and later became president and owner of the company in 1988. He was well known in the glass business, especially in the lighting and furniture industries.

Mair is survived by his wife of 53 years Yvonne Mair, along with his two sons, Kevin Mair and wife Tina of Jasper, Ind., and Andrew Mair and his partner Jennifer Dittoe (Grace and Jimmy) of Carmel, Ind.; five grandchildren, Brandon, Jason, Allison, Cooper and Kennedy; and nieces and nephews in England.

A memorial service was held in Hartford City, Ind., on October 2.
