Dick Powell

Richard “Dick” Ramon Powell of Culpeper, Va., died at his home on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at the age of 85. He worked as a salesman in the glass and aluminum business for 60 years, a career that took him from California to Madison, Wis., Kansas City, Mo. and Gaithersburg, Md. He later moved to Alexandria, Va., where he lived and retired from Woodbridge Glass at the age of 84. Powell previously served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1962 as a sergeant in the Korean War.

He is survived by his companion of 45 years, Sonia Kay Mills; daughters, Deborah A. Powell and Cristine Powell Homburg (Chris); son, Mark D. Powell (Meredith); four grandchildren, Kyle Homburg, Danielle Homburg, Caitlin Powell and Olivia Powell; and great-granddaughter, Salem Homburg.

Graveside services will be held at Culpeper National Cemetery on February 4, 2021 with military honors provided by VFW Post 2524.

    He was never afraid to tack a difficult project and his personality always made the job successful.
