Curtainwall company FreMarq Innovations is currently in the process of moving from its facility in Wausau, Wis., to Merrill, Wis., according to the town’s city administrator Dave Johnson. The facility was previously occupied by Graham Architectural Products, which vacated the facility in February.

City of Merrill Common Council meeting minutes show that in March, FreMarq formed a development agreement with the City of Merrill authorizing a loan of up to $100,000 for the company’s relocation that would not require repayment if the company maintained 50 full-time jobs in the city for two years after the relocation.

According to the Wausau Daily Herald, FreMarq co-owner Renea Frederick has owned the building to which her company is relocating since July 2003. Frederick and her husband, Todd Frederick, owned curtainwall company FM Enterprises, which operated in that facility, until it was sold to Graham in 2009 and rebranded as FM Graham Enterprises. They founded FreMarq in Wausau in 2016.

Jim Eisenbeis, director of marketing and project management at Graham Architectural Products, told USGNN™ that Graham closed its Merrill location because the company wants to focus on its core business, which is doors and windows.

“Our window business is thriving and we wanted to focus all of our resources on that effort,” said Eisenbeis.

He said the company had a small number of employees in Merrill and that it worked closely with them to place them in new jobs. Graham is now looking forward to growing its window business in York, Pa., according to Eisenbeis.

FreMarq had not responded to USGNN’s request for comment as of press time.
