Glass Expo Rocky Mountain™ will take place at the Hyatt Regency Aurora-Denver Conference Center in Aurora, Colo., (suburban Denver), including numerous educational sessions designed to bring the industry’s latest trends and innovations to glass companies in the region. In a session scheduled for Thursday, January 24, from 8-9 a.m., subject matter expert and ProTek brand manager for YKK AP America, Greg Galloway, will discuss blast mitigation—including how to turn a “no” into a “yes.”

Attendees will learn how to recognize the relationship between blast testing, static analysis and dynamic analysis, along with how to configure glazing, framing and anchoring to meet specified levels of performance. The session will also explore challenges and trade-offs when designing for blast mitigation, as well as other concerns, such as hurricane impact or ballistics requirements and identify key information that must be provided to system manufacturers in order for them to perform static or dynamic analyses.

Galloway’s background includes more than 30 years in fenestration systems with accomplishments in strategic business planning, market intelligence and brand and product management. He holds B.S. and M.B.A. degrees and serves on the Southeast AAMA Technical Committee and Board of Directors.
