Over 650 exhibitors have currently registered for glasstec, the International Trade Fair for Glass Production, Processing and Products, in June 2021 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany, and are therefore also taking part in glasstec VIRTUAL. The virtual event will be held from October 20-22, 2020 and will feature extensive services for exhibitors to present themselves to the sector and interact with potential customers.

For the duration of the event all participants of glasstec VIRTUAL will receive free access to the three-day conference program and all additional online offers of the exhibitors. Registration is now open at https://virtual.glasstec-online.com/.

During glasstec VIRTUAL exhibitors and participants will be able to network using either a smart Matchmaking Tool (via app or the website) or the chat function in the individual sessions. Over three days, the conference agenda of glasstec VIRTUAL will feature free expert lectures from the industry and science community with reference to globally trending themes such as climate protection, resource efficiency, urbanization, added value and happiness. The virtual glasstec conference language will be English and will have a similar structure as the in-person event, divided into segments such as glass production, processing and finishing as well as glass products and applications. The following industry experts will be chairing the respective sessions:

  • Michael Drass, Technical University of Darmstadt, Institute for Statics and Engineering: glass products and applications.
  • Johann Overath, Bundesverband Glasindustrie e.V. (BV – Federal Association of the Glass Industry) and Dr. Thomas Jüngling, Hüttentechnische Vereinigung der Deutschen Glasindustrie e.V. (HVG – Research Association of the German Glass Industry), Deutsche Glastechnische Gesellschaft e.V. (DGG – German Society of Glass Technology): glass production.
  • Gesine Bergmann, Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbauer e.V. (VDMA – German Engineering Association – Forum Glass Technology) and Jochen Grönegräs, Bundesverband Flachglas e.V. (BF – German Flat Glass Manufacturers’ Association): glass processing and finishing.

During the conference, the international trade audience will be able to learn about the latest developments and trends in the global glass sector and interact with the speakers—experiencing the talks live from everywhere in the world. The first two conference days will be rounded off by the Glass Association Summit, organized by the trade journal Glass Worldwide. Its two sessions will address the current, global market situation in the flat and container glass industry.
