In December, KBX announced a partnership with Guardian Industries to develop import capabilities further. KBX is a subsidiary of Koch Industries, specializing in logistics. Koch also owns Guardian.

KBX officials say the partnership features a rail extension project at Guardian’s North America plant in Carleton, Michigan. They explain that the expansion enhances the facility’s capacity to import raw materials and export glass via rail.

“The additional space increases storage capacity and resiliency of rail at the site, allowing the raw materials to be managed onsite during high-demand periods,” KBX officials write on LinkedIn.
