Bob G. Pool, founder and chairman of Thermal Windows Inc. in Tulsa, Okla., passed away September 13 in Bayview, Texas, with his wife and daughters at his side. Pool, born October 11, 1928, was 85.

A little more than a decade after graduating from flight school at Oklahoma Military Academy, Pool joined his father, Cal, in business at Aluminum Window Products Company in Tulsa in 1958 and went on to become a well-known figure in the window industry.

In 1979, Pool developed and began manufacturing a new line of thermally efficient products. Since then, Thermal Windows Inc. has grown into a nationwide supplier for commercial and residential projects.

According to those who knew him, Pool saw his company and employees as his sixth child. In celebration of his 80th birthday, he expressed his appreciation to his employees with an extra week’s pay as his birthday present.
