And Now For Some Happy News

By Deb Levy

This is one of those times when I get to bring you happy news that is good news as well.

With this issue, Ellen Rogers, award-winning editor of USGlass magazine, has an expanded role as editorial/content director for Key Media & Research (KMR). In addition to USGlass, Ellen is now responsible for the content direction and delivery for all KMR industry sectors, including Window Film magazine, Door & Window Market magazine, and Auto Glass Repair & Replacement (AGRR) magazine. Each sector includes print and digital publications, e-newsletters, and live events, among other offerings.

Ellen has been with KMR since 2000, when she began as assistant editor for USGlass magazine and grew to become the editor of the publication. USGlass magazine is the largest glass magazine in the world and the only industry monthly magazine in North America. It is also the only North American industry publication audited by an independent circulation audit firm.

In 2022, Rogers’ work was honored with a prestigious SIIA Jesse H. Neal Award in the Best Technical/Scientific Content category for her article “Less Than Zero: Driving Down Carbon Emissions in Architectural Facades” in the November 2021 issue. The Neal Awards are presented annually and are considered the Pulitzer Prize for business-to-business journalism.

I am delighted to welcome Ellen into her new role. She has been doing great things for the industries KMR serves for many years, and she will continue to do so in the future. You’ll see several innovative initiatives from KMR in the next 12 months, and Ellen will be a strong force in that growth.

“This is an absolute honor, and I’m so excited to continue serving this industry,” says Ellen of her new role. “Over the past 20-plus years, I’ve seen how the world of magazine media has evolved. We have so many opportunities before us for new developments and innovations that will allow us to continue serving our audiences with timely and important content on many different platforms. It’s just the beginning, and I’m looking forward to this next chapter.” Ellen succeeds former editorial director Tara Taffera who moved on to work in another industry in August.

KMR has been fortunate to work with many talented people over the years. We look forward to Ellen’s continued contributions to the industries we serve and to you, our readers. Congratulations, Ellen.
