Kensington Glass Arts has closed its contract glazing division. Officials from the Ijamsville, Maryland-based company say the move enables it to focus on its glass fabrication division. The glass fabrication segment specializes in the fabrication of heavy-tempered and laminated glass, catering to various aspects of the architectural industry.

Officials say that by transitioning to a dedicated glass fabrication business model, Kensington will be able to focus more effectively on its work, expand its geographical reach and provide more focused service and support.

“This shift will address common challenges such as lead times, logistics and quality issues faced by glass shops, commercial glaziers and glass wall dealers,” say officials.

Officials add that while the contract glazing division has shut down, Kensington will maintain its technical and engineering expertise via a new division, the technical sales team.

“The role of this team is to enhance the company’s fabrication and sales processes by providing complex glass and hardware packages, which include shower door hardware and various types of glass doors, as well as offering unique hardware to complement their glass sales,” explain officials.
