Kensington Glass Arts Inc. (KGA), a Mid-Atlantic commercial glazier, architectural glass fabricator and distributor, has opened an additional glass fabrication facility in Sterling, Va.

“This will give us the opportunity to quickly leverage into the laminated and tempered laminated glass business,” says John Reichlin, president of KGA, “This also gives us additional tempering capabilities, and supports our overall business goals.”

The new Sterling facility will open for production January 2021 following the establishment of processes and procedures to ensure KGA’s quality manufacturing standards. This 20,000-square-foot facility, added to its current 30,000 square feet, will help KGA expand its tempered, laminated and tempered laminated glass fabrication capabilities, as well as further support KGA’s move into the Virginia markets of Richmond, Tidewater and the Shenandoah Valley, according to the company.

In addition to the new facility, KGA currently is working to expand its headquarters in Ijamsville, Md. This expansion will begin in 2021, with expected completion early 2022. It will triple the fabrication capacity of KGA’s current Ijamsville facility, according to the company.
