Marc Deschamps

Walker Glass Company has announced that Marc Deschamps, business development manager, will retire on March 30 after more than 20 years of service with the company.

Deschamps started with Walker Glass as an accountant in April 1997 as director of finance. He held this role until 2003, at which time he launched a second career with the company, as business development manager. Deschamps’ leadership role in the development and implementation of the Walker Textures brand was unsurpassed, according to the company. Under his direction, numerous products and programs were launched, and an architectural team covering North America was successfully built and fully trained. He was also responsible for the marketing team and the promotion of various products including Walker’s AviProtek bird-friendly glass product line which he mentored and managed. Deschamps was named to USGlass magazine’s 2012 list of the “Industry’s Most Influential.”

“For a period of more than 20 years, Marc contributed significantly to Walker’s prosperity which included the highly successful expansion of the Walker Textures brand. Thanks to him, today we inherit a solid base on which Walker will continue to build for years to come. Marc was much more than an important colleague, his vision helped propel the company,” says Ross Christie, vice president sales and marketing.

Further announcements will be made in the upcoming weeks.
