M3 Glass Technologies Acquires Thermotec Glass

M3 Glass Technologies, a fabricator of architectural glass with locations in Irving and Austin, Texas, has announced its acquisition of Thermotec Glass, a manufacturer of exterior insulating glass located in Georgetown, Texas. Owner Luis Najarro and the management team at Thermotec will stay on and continue to grow the business in the Central Texas market, where it was founded in 1995.

“We are excited to join the M3 family. Their focus on quality and service matches that of Thermotec. We look forward to growing with M3 and taking the business to the next level,” Najarro said.

M3 Glass Technologies provides interior glass products throughout the United States.

“We are thrilled to partner with Luis and his outstanding team as M3 expands into insulating glass. This acquisition is a critical step in building a complete portfolio of glass products to provide our customers a one-stop shop experience for both interior and exterior glass,” says David Jackson, CEO of M3 Glass Technologies. “In conjunction with this acquisition, M3 will soon be breaking ground on a state-of-the-art commercial insulating glass line at our Georgetown facility, which we hope to have online by the end of 2022.”

Trimco Acquires Mesker Business from dormakaba

dormakaba has signed an agreement to sell its Mesker hollow metal doors business to the key principals of Trimco of Oceanside, Calif., and Metal Manufacturing Industries/MMI in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. The sale is expected to close by June 30, 2022, at the end of the current financial year. Once final, Mesker will operate under a new entity known as Mesker MBM LP.

“The key principals of the new Mesker MBM organization are proven industry veterans with a strong, customer-centered vision for advancing the hollow metal doors business, with a comprehensive product offering, reliable operations and responsive regional service centers,” says Alex Housten, president of dormakaba Region Americas. “Although dormakaba will no longer manufacture hollow metal doors, our architectural specifications team will continue to support Mesker as a PROAlliance partner by writing specifications across the full architectural solutions offering from dormakaba, Trimco, ABH Manufacturing, NGP and Mesker.”

dormakaba acquired Mesker in late 2016. The Design Hardware product line, acquired along with the Mesker hollow metal door business, was separated and integrated within dormakaba’s architectural hardware portfolio, where it will remain.

Three Companies Combine to Create Vibrantz Technologies

Prince International Corp., Chromaflo Technologies and Ferro Corp. have combined operations to form Vibrantz Technologies.

In the announcement, D. Michael Wilson, president and CEO of Vibrantz Technologies, states that the companies “strongly believe the combination of Prince, Chromaflo and Ferro will create a financially stronger company focused on better meeting” customers’ needs for color solutions, performance coatings and advanced materials.

The merger will allow Vibrantz Technologies to be a “company with strong material science and technology expertise to drive faster innovation” and will also have a broader global footprint of customer reach and service.

The combination, Wilson says, will not impact existing contracts or agreements, which remain in place according to their terms and conditions. At this time, each of the three company names and tax identification numbers remains the same.
