Arizona Glass & Door Expands with the Acquisition of Desert Breeze Glass

Arizona Glass & Door, a residential and commercial glazing company based in Mesa, Ariz., has acquired Desert Breeze Glass, a provider of window repairs, replacements and tempered glass.

The move allows for Arizona Glass & Door to offer more services to a wider range of customers.

Arizona Glass & Door is a locally owned company that has more than 20 years of experience in the local Arizona glass industry. The company offers a variety of services, including glass and tint, window film and tint, security film, window repair, window replacement and smart glass installation.

Desert Breeze Glass provides many of the same services as Arizona Glass & Door, however, it offers an added expertise in auto glass services, such as chip repair, windshield replacement, and the application of Diamon Fusion glass coating.

ASSA ABLOY Acquires Multiple Door Hardware Companies

ASSA ABLOY, a global supplier of intelligent access solutions, has agreed to acquire VHS Plastik Metal, a manufacturer of hardware systems for doors and windows based in Turkey.

The acquisition is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to close during the fourth quarter of 2022.

“We are very excited about the acquisition of VHS,” says Neil Vann, executive vice president of ASSA ABLOY and head of the Europe, Middle East, India and Africa division. “This transaction is a step change to our existing trading business in Turkey and reinforces our long-term commitment to the local market. VHS offers a strong range of window
and door hardware products that will complement our offerings in Turkey. The acquisition also gives us a local manufacturing footprint that offers great opportunities.”

“I am very pleased to welcome VHS into the ASSA ABLOY Group,” says Nico Delvaux, president and CEO of ASSA ABLOY. “This constitutes an important next step in our strategy to grow market leadership in emerging markets.”

ASSA ABLOY has also acquired Control iD, a Brazil-based company that specializes in developing hardware and software for electronic security, commercial automation and human resources management.

The move will reinforce ASSA ABLOY’s current access control and biometric offerings. Control iD focuses on biometric technologies, such as facial recognition, tax document authentication and printing solutions. It also designed an electronic time attendance system, which is used to control employee work hours automatically.

“Control iD’s focus on innovative biometric technologies, especially facial recognition, fills several gaps in our existing portfolio and I’m excited for them to become part of ASSA ABLOY,” says Lucas Boselli, executive vice president and head of the Americas Division. “This acquisition provides a great opportunity for us to further develop our commercial and residential access control solutions and services to many different markets and applications in Brazil.”

Delvaux adds, “Control iD is a strategic technological addition; reinforcing our current access control and biometrics offerings, providing complementary growth opportunities and enabling us to grow our market leadership in emerging markets.”
