Pete Munoz, Mira Mesa Glass & Screen

Pete Munoz, a glass industry veteran for more than six decades, passed away in January 2022. He was the last surviving member of his family. He was born in El Paso, Texas, to Francisco and Antonia Munoz. Munoz met his wife Bertha in 1953 and married on March 28, 1956. They started their family and decided to move to California. He started in the industry in 1961, working for San Diego Glass & Paint, and eventually became manager. In 1966, he worked with George Comstock at C&C Glass for about a decade until he opened National Glass & Screen in 1976.

After retirement, he bought Mira Mesa Glass & Screen and brought his grandchildren, Christian and Angelica, with him to teach them the family business.

Munoz also contributed to his community by working with the Lions Club, a
non-profit organization, little leagues and his church, Iglesia Methodista Libre Sinai, and the food bank.

Munoz is survived by his wife, Bertha, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


General Glass International

Stephen Balik is the new vice president of General Glass International (GGI). Balik joined GGI in 2010, where he first assumed ground-level roles in estimating. He later progressed to project management, architectural sales, business development and marketing.

Balik has been part of the senior leadership team since 2014 and recently joined GGI president David Balik and executive vice president Richard Balik on the executive management board.

Balik will continue to lead marketing, product development, architectural, and value-added sales in his new role. He will also assume a lead role on the company’s employee engagement team.

TSI Corporations

TSI Corporations announced three executive appointments to its senior leadership team.

Will Pounds will serve as executive vice president, focusing on business development and preconstruction. A 10-year veteran of the company, he has held various roles from drafting technician and engineering department manager to project executive and operations manager.

With over 11 years of TSI experience, Russell Frazier has been promoted to executive vice president with a focus on operations. Frazier has a history of working in the construction industry with strong program and project management knowledge, according to a press release. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree focused on construction management from Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Brandon Duvall is TSI’s new senior operations manager. Duvall has been a senior manager for building facade contractors for more than 20 years and has collaborated with construction managers, general contractors and architectural firms. He has a Bachelor of Arts in business management with an emphasis in operations and manufacturing from Ball State University.

New Hires

Vitro Architectural Glass

Vitro Architectural Glass announced Brian Pigney as the national architectural manager for the Great Lakes region.

Pigney has been in the commercial construction industry for more than 30 years. He holds an associate degree in computer and information sciences and support services from Robert Morris University Illinois in Chicago. His previous experience includes serving as a project manager for Harmon and as a sales manager with Christopher Glass & Aluminum.

Pigney succeeds Daniel Sutton, formerly national architectural manager for the Great Lakes region, who was recently named product manager for value added products.

Tubelite Inc.

Jeff Born was named director of procurement and supply chain solutions overseeing North American activities for Tubelite Inc., Alumicor Ltd. and Linetec. Born has more than 20 years of experience leading supply chain planning, scheduling, capacity management, logistics, distribution, procurement and warehousing. He is a member of the Association for Supply Chain Management and recently served as vice president of global supply chain for Michigan-based medical device manufacturer SunMed LLC.

Billco Manufacturing

Billco recently hired fenestration industry expert Tracy Rogers. Before Billco, he held positions such as vice president sales and marketing for Keystone Certifications; director of industry relations and advanced technology for Quanex Building Products; and technical director for Edgetech IG.

Rogers has been actively involved in leadership positions with multiple industry associations throughout his career, including board positions with AAMA, IGMA, GANA and FMA.

In his new position with Billco as glass solutions specialist, he will be responsible for sales and customer support for fenestration customers throughout North America.
