M-D Building Products

M-D Building Products Inc. appointed four current employees to lead several recently formed brand portfolio strategic business units.

Kipp Collins, based in Oklahoma City, will lead the M-D Consumer business unit. Collins has been with M-D for nearly 17 years in multiple sales and marketing functions, as well as responsibilities related to operations. He previously served as executive vice president of sales and marketing.

Mike Wasson will lead M-D Manufactured Solutions and Cardinal Aluminum. He has been with M-D for nearly 15 years and most recently served as senior vice president of sales. He also oversaw the company’s Metal-Source distribution branches. He is based in Louisville, Ky.

Joe Comitale, based in Toronto, will lead M-D Pro and Canadian Consumer. He has been with the company for more than nine years and has worked with the Bengard and Loxcreen companies, which M-D acquired, for over 40 years. Since joining M-D, Comitale has served as executive vice president and president of M-D Canada.

As senior vice president, Jared Bringhurst will lead M-D’s shared manufacturing services function. Bringhurst joined M-D a year and a half ago to continue his career in the aluminum extrusion and pro-flooring industries.

YKK AP America

Peter Mocker was recently named the director of YKK AP’s technology and business solutions group. Mocker has more than 19 years of experience in the technology industry, and recently led IT project management functions at Panasonic Automotive Systems of America.

Bernard Murray is the company’s new senior manager of human resources (HR) for its residential products manufacturing facility in Macon, Ga.

Murray has more than 15 years of leadership experience in HR and recruitment, including nearly 10 years of active-duty service in the U.S. Army National Guard. He most recently led and managed all employee engagement activities and strategic business implementations at Irving Tissue, a Macon-based tissue and paper goods manufacturer.

New Hires

McGrory Glass

McGrory Glass, a national fabricator and distributor of fire-rated and architectural glass solutions, has named Ben Haigh as senior director of the fire-rated division.

“We are excited that Ben has joined our Fire-Rated Division at McGrory, and will help us continue to bring innovative fire-rated and security solutions to the architectural community,” says Chris McGrory, CEO and president. “Ben brings a vast knowledge of fire-rated solutions and building codes that will directly benefit our clients.”

A+W Software

A+W Software has named Loren Powell as project manager for A+W Cantor and A+W Clarity. Powell is a veteran of the glass and fenestration industries with experience in project managing installations. He will communicate with all stakeholders, map out timelines, assess project risks and opportunities and execute on each phase of the project life cycle.

Winco Window Company

Matt Mehringer is a newly hired account manager in the Winco Window sales and marketing group.

He will be responsible for growing existing client relationships and increasing bidding efficiencies. He has a background in technical sales, customer service, finance, and earned a degree in education.

SAFTI FIRST®, a U.S. manufacturer of fire-rated glass and framing systems, has added Colby Hill to the Texas Fenestration Inc. (TFI) team. TFI, a manufacturer’s representative, currently represents the company’s New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma territories. Hill will oversee Oklahoma and has over 14 years of experience in the construction and architectural glass industry.

Fabricated Products Group

Fabricated Products Group (FPG), a commercial architectural metal fabrication supplier, has hired Hall Companies as its Texas manufacturer’s representative.

Hall Companies will represent FPG’s full line of custom architectural metals, including sunshades, architectural grilles and thermally broken Z-girts. Tyler Hall, principal, has more than 11 years of experience as a specialty installer and supplier of architectural building products.

Goldray Glass

CEO and co-founder of Goldray Cathie Saroka has stepped down from her role as CEO and is transitioning to executive chair. Michael Saroka, previously chief operating officer, assumes this responsibility.

“Goldray Glass is entering its 37th year of operation and Michael has been very active in the company from an early age. I am so proud of how he continues to lead our people and all that we have accomplished,” says Cathie Saroka. “I am confident that under Michael’s leadership, the company will further grow and expand.”

The seele group, a family-run business based in Gersthofen, Germany, announced that Gerhard Seele is transferring his majority stake to his son, Michael Seele.

Gerhard Seele will remain managing director of seele group GmbH. Siegfried Gossner, co-founder of the seele group of companies, is a member of the supervisory board and still serves as a technical advisor to the company.


Francis Cholley is Swisspacer’s new managing director, part of the Saint-Gobain group. Cholley succeeds Victoria Renz-Kiefel, who is now director of systems and solutions at Saint-Gobain Germany.

Cholley, who has been with Saint-Gobain for 28 years, worked in various positions and organizations, most recently in Asia.

In addition, Swisspacer named Sarah Köring its new sales director for Europe. Rutger van Eijk previously held the position. Köring most recently worked as sales director North America & Australia-Pacific at heroal – Johann Henkenjohann GmbH & Co. KG and as vice president of heroal USA Inc.

Associations and Organizations


During its Extraordinary General Assembly, GIMAV approved the election of new board officers. Nicola Lattuada, partner at Adelio Lattuada and president of Lattuada North America Inc., was elected deputy vice president and Nancy Mammaro, CEO of Mappi International, was elected vice president responsible for flat glass.

Lattuada has been a GIMAV board member since 2016 and vice president since 2018. Mammaro has been a board member since 2012 and vice president of GIMAV since 2016.

Fenestration & Glazing Industry Alliance

The Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) appointed Jason Seals to serve as a voting member of the Florida Structural Technical Advisory Committee (TAC).

In addition to Seals, FGIA member Dean Ruark, vice president, engineering, at PGT Innovations, also serves on the Florida Structural TAC.



As part of an ongoing effort to strengthen and streamline its customer service team, Quanex announced several promotions.

Irish Rubright was promoted from customer service manager to inside sales manager. Rubright began her career with Quanex as a customer service representative for the IG Systems division and was later promoted to customer service manager.

Tonya Edwards was promoted from senior customer service representative to customer service supervisor. Edwards began her career with Quanex in 2012 as a customer service representative for IG Systems.

Sarah Swigert was promoted to import/export compliance manager for the North American Fenestration sector. Swigert began her career with Quanex in 2008 as an international customer service representative for the IG Systems division.
