The National Fenestration Ratings Council (NFRC) has elected three members to the board of directors for the 2021 term. With a focus on diversifying the board, these individuals have expertise in energy-efficiency building codes as well as research credentials from a national lab, according to the nonprofit organization.

This year, members voted to approve two general interest candidates while the current board of directors selected an at-large member. Each board member serves a three-year term. The approved board members are:

  • Maggie Kelley, built environment project manager at Southeast Energy Efficiency Alliance;
  • Mahabir Bhandari, building equipment scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory; and
  • Neil Burning, vice president of technical resources and government relations at the International Code Council .

“We look forward to the new energy, talent and experience these newly elected board members will bring to NFRC,” says Deb Callahan, NFRC CEO. “Collectively, they have extensive knowledge of building energy codes as well as trends and innovations in the fenestration industry. This expertise only further enhances the skillset of our already strong board.”
