Nippon Sheet Glass Co. Ltd., a manufacturer of glass and glazing products for the architectural and automotive industry, and technical glass sectors, announced changes to organizational leadership, including executive officers. Changes take effect October 1, 2020.

The changes begin the transformation of the corporate structure of the NSG Group, and include the newly created role of chief transformation officer (CTrO). The CTrO will lead transformation activities, promoting group-wide cost structure transformation, as well as business and operational efficiency improvements. The CTrO will report directly to the CEO. Creative Technology Strategic Business Units (SBU) will be in charge of the growth strategy for the NSG Group, encompassing all areas of the current technical glass SBU apart from the fine glass division, as well as the current business innovation center (BIC) organization. The new SBU also will report directly to the CEO.

Specifically, Rob Purcell, formerly the head of Automotive OE Europe will serve as senior executive officer, head of Automotive OE SBU.

Tony Fradgley remains a senior executive officer by stepping into the role of CTrO. He was previously the head of automotive AGR SBU and head of automotive OE SBU.

Satoshi Ishino, already a senior executive officer—the company’s chief development officer (CDO), and head of business Innovation Center—will also be the acting head of creative technology SBU; and Hiroshi Nishikawa, the former head of technical glass SBU moves into the roles of transformation director Asia and head of fine glass division, retaining a senior executive officer position with the company.

The company’s global head of automotive AGR SBU, Phil Wilkinson, is now head of automotive AGR SBU.
