Eugene E. “Gene” LaFollette

Eugene E. “Gene” LaFollette, co-founder of B&G Glass, died in Punta Gorda, Florida, on Jan. 19, 2024. LaFollette founded Pennsylvania-based B&G Glass in 1963. He co-owned and operated the company for 36 years until his retirement in 1999.

LaFollette was a 1954 Penn Bernville High School graduate. He served in the U.S. Army. He was also a Veterans of Foreign Wars member and was associated with the American Legion and Mt. Pleasant Fire Company.

He was the husband of the late Joyce A. LaFollette, to whom he was married for 33 years.

LaFollette is survived by his children, E. Curt LaFollette, companion of Lisa Isett, and Lori L. Yeager, wife of Kent Yeager. Also surviving are grandchildren, Tatum Cocco (Vincente), Sydni Yeager, Kait LaFollette, and Heather LaFollette; great-grandchildren, Mavis, Griffin, and Julianna; Siblings, Phyllis I. LaFollette and David LaFollette (Marie). In addition to his wife, Joyce, and parents, Gene was predeceased by a daughter, Kelli L. Hemmingdinger, and a brother, Guy B. LaFollette.

  1. I worked for B&G glass quite a few years ago when Gene still owned the company.
    I remember him as a good fair man and I was sorry to hear he passed.
