Louis “Lou” McCumber, who, along with his wife Karen, owned McCumber’s Glass of Marysville, Calif., passed away September 26.  According to his obituary, for the past 44 years, “Lou had become a respected and accomplished glazier (glass-designer/installer).

“In 2001, Lou (along with wife) opened McCumber’s Glass in Marysville. Although Lou was a perfectionist when it came to his trade, he valued personal relationships over success and profit.” He was also an engaged member of the Valley Contractors Exchange, which noted him as “always willing to give us his perspective on the construction industry.  He will be missed.”

A memorial and celebration of his life is scheduled for today, Tuesday, October 7, from 3 to 7pm at the Church of Glad Tidings, 1179 Eager Road in Live Oak, Calif. According to the obituary, “it was Lou’s desire for McCumber’s Glass to thrive beyond his passing.  McCumber’s will continue business as usual, with Karen in the position of President.” His full obituary can be read here.
