Permasteelisa Group will supply more than 160,000 square feet of custom-made architectural cladding for a new London residential development. Company officials said the Group is tasked with designing, engineering, manufacturing and installing cladding and glazing at St. John’s Wood Square, which is part of a redevelopment project of the former five-acre St. John’s Wood Barracks.

The residential development features nine buildings, ranging in height from three to six stories.

The Group will supply tripled glazed punched windows and sliding doors, balustrades and metal balconies, along with specific elements for the wrap-around glazing, roof mansards and external “veil” structures that slope against the vertical walls within the penthouses, as well as the glazing that will occupy the ground floor on the street front.

Officials said the design phase has already begun at Permasteelisa’s design center in Italy, where the bespoke elements of the façade will also be assembled in its specialist manufacturing facility. Onsite work will start at the end of 2024. The façade is expected to be completed in the summer of 2026.
