Eight of the most outstanding building projects from across the country have been awarded by the Metal Construction Association (MCA). The criteria include overall appearance, significance of metal in the project, innovative use of metal and the role of metal in achieving project objectives.
Winners were announced at the MCA’s Winter Meeting Awards Dinner in Key Largo, Fla., on January 15, 2019.
In the education – primary and secondary schools category, the Memphis Business Academy in Memphis, Tenn., won. PAC-CLAD Petersen Aluminum Corp. was the MCA member manufacturer for the project, designed by Self + Tucker Architects. Another Petersen project won in the institutional category: the Ballet Memphis in Memphis. It was designed my archimania.
The Austin Community College Campus Center in Leander, Texas, won in the education – colleges and universities category. MCA Member manufacturer CENTRIA provided the architectural metal. The project was designed by SmithGroup/Pfluger Architects.
