Pioneer Cladding and Glazing Systems Inc. recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. Company officials said that each of Pioneer’s locations honored the occasion in different ways, including catering food, egg races, games and food and drink.

Tom Heinold and Tim Hoh founded Pioneer in May 1999. Initially, the company operated out of a small office in Cincinnati before moving into a 19,000-square-foot facility in 2000. It began manufacturing its first pre-glazed units in 2003.

Three years later, Pioneer moved into a new 45,000-square-foot facility and started manufacturing unitized curtainwall systems in 2007. It fully automated manufacturing operations in 2008 and expanded its Cincinnati plant to 72,000 square feet.

Pioneer has since opened several locations, including Baltimore, Cleveland, Indianapolis, Johnson City, Tennessee, and Kokomo, Indiana. In 2018, it transitioned into an employee-owned company and recently purchased a 103,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Baltimore. It is currently led by president and chief operating officer Paul Robinson.
