Two Months Until Glass TEXpo™ ’21 Returns to San Antonio

There are only two months until Glass TEXpo™ ’21 returns to San Antonio’s Henry B. González Convention Center. On May 20-21, 2021, glass and glazing industry professionals in the region will have the chance to experience relevant educational seminars, networking opportunities and a trade show floor featuring the latest industry products from dozens of exhibitors.

The event will have appropriate health protocols in place. The Henry B. González Convention Center and host hotels have been awarded the GBAC STAR™, an award given to facilities that maintain a high standard of cleaning and disinfecting procedures.

The trade show floor will be open from 2:30-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 20 and from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Friday, May 21. A Welcoming Event will be held on the show floor from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, allowing exhibitors and attendees a chance to network amid a relaxed setting.

The educational program will kick off Thursday at 8:30 a.m. with an economic update from Nick St. Denis, director of research for Key Media & Research, parent company of USGlass magazine. Other sessions on Thursday include Make Hardware Your Next Easy Profit, presented by Banner Solutions director Mary Hester; Update on Current Texas Employment and Labor Laws, presented by Kelly Stamy, associate attorney with Cromeens Law Firm; Effects of Hurricanes on Insulating Glass Unit Performance, presented by Bill Lingnell of Lingnell Consulting; and Understanding Glass Railing Codes, Specs and Materials, presented by Vaughn Schauss, Americas technical consultancy manager for Kuraray’s Trosifol division.

Attendees also will have the chance to experience the keynote session, They Are Saying More Than You Think – How to Hire, Retain and Lead the Best, with body language expert Janine Driver from 1-2:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 20.

The educational program will resume at 8 a.m. on Friday, May 21 beginning with the session Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) Update, presented by TDI engineer Dr. Paul Bove. He will provide an overview of the TDI Windstorm Program requirements for fenestration products. Other sessions on Friday include A Growing Unitized Movement, presented by YKK AP America ProTek brand manager Grey Galloway, and Trends in Commercial Construction That are Going to Affect You, presented by Richard Voreis, CEO of Consulting Collaborative.

The Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk is offering a discounted room rate of $179 USD per night, per single/double, plus tax. This rate is available until April 27, 2021 on a first-come, first-served basis.
