Glass Expo Midwest™ ’18 Heads to Indianapolis

Glass Expo Midwest””‘ (GEMS) ’18 will take place at the JW Marriott Indianapolis in Indianapolis November 8—9, 2018. The two-day event will feature a trade show floor, educational seminars and networking opportunities specific to the architectural glass and metal industries. GEMS is cosponsored by USGlass magazine,™ and Architects’ Guide to Glass & Metal.

Attendees can take part in a line-up of seminars about topics including a Midwest economic update, decorative glass, glass and glazing trends, C-suite changes, finding quality workers and designing safer laminated glass railings.

A keynote address from body language expert Janine Driver will take place from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 9. “You Say More Than You Think” will give attendees the tools to improve their negotiation, sales and management techniques. Driver is a popular media guest, with appearances on shows including The Dr. Oz Show, Anderson Cooper, NBC’s TODAY and Weekend TODAY, FOX News and CNN’s Larry King Live.

Networking events are also available for GEMS attendees. A welcoming cocktail party will be held on the show floor from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, November 8. Then, starting at 8 p.m., the business bingo session will allow attendees to network while having fun.

The exhibition floor will be open from 3 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, November 9. Dozens of companies will be set up on the show floor to speak about their latest offerings.

The JW Marriott Indianapolis is offering a discounted room rate of $179 per night, per single/double, plus tax. This room rate is available until October 18 on a first-come, first-served basis.

WinDoor Show Expands into Commercial

WinDoor North America, the annual Canadian event for the residential door and window industry, is expanding into the commercial market. Companies involved in the commercial space are invited to exhibit, and there will be seminars targeted to this group. as well.

The event, sponsored by Fenestration Canada, is being held December 3-5, 2018 at the Quebec City Convention Centre in Quebec. The gathering will include a variety of opportunities for attendees from North America to network, see the latest products and learn of the latest issues affecting their business.
