A new collaboration between Saint-Gobain Glass and LuxWall will bring Insio vacuum glazing to Europe.

A new collaboration between Saint-Gobain Glass and LuxWall will bring Insio vacuum glazing to Europe. The two companies announced a strategic partnership through which Saint-Gobain will integrate LuxWall’s transparent insulation technology into its Insio solution, marking a major milestone in the transition to energy-efficient building envelopes, according to the announcement.

LuxWall’s transparent insulation technology reimagines the role of glass in buildings, transforming it from one of the largest sources of energy loss into a high-performing solution for energy conservation. The integration with Saint-Gobain’s Insio “represents a powerful step toward enhanced building performance with measurable reductions in energy costs and capital expenditure,” reads the announcement.

“We are delighted to partner with LuxWall, bringing two innovative companies together in order to meet the growing demand for energy-efficient buildings and retrofit solutions,” says Nicolas Mondy, vice president of Saint-Gobain’s Glass Performance segment. “Insio will allow us to support our customers in addressing the building decarbonization challenge while enhancing window conception possibilities without compromising on tenant comfort.”

Energy loss through windows and glass façades accounts for roughly 40% of buildings’ heating and cooling demand, according to the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction, Global Status Reports 2017. By pairing Saint-Gobain Glass’s global expertise and scale with LuxWall’s transparent insulation innovation, this new solution helps building owners, architects and developers reduce energy waste without compromising design or daylighting.

“Our mission at LuxWall has always been to reduce building energy consumption and carbon emissions at a price point that enables universal access for all,” says Scott Thomsen, CEO and founder of LuxWall. “Partnering with Saint-Gobain Glass enables us to bring this mission to life on a global scale. Together, we’re transforming the building envelope from an energy liability into an essential asset for a sustainable future.”
