Salem Fabrication Technologies Group Inc. (SFTG) has acquired Greensboro, North Carolina-based Matodi, a provider of machinery, tooling, spare parts, technical support and service solutions for the flat glass fabrication industry.
Matodi will retain its name and become the fifth operating division under the SFTG umbrella, joining Salem Fabrication Supplies, HHH Equipment Resources, Glass Machinery Locator and K&W Grinding.
“This is an exciting step forward for SFTG, Matodi and, most importantly, the customers we serve,” says Dan Reinhart, SFTG CEO. “Matodi has built a solid reputation in our industry through knowledgeable people, quality machinery and tooling, and a commitment to taking care of its customers. Those values align extremely well with ours. By bringing our organizations together, we are strengthening the depth of products, technical expertise and service we can provide to glass fabricators throughout North America.”
SFTG officials say the acquisition expands the company’s offerings in glass fabrication machinery, automation, tooling, consumables, replacement parts and equipment service. The deal also adds another business to SFTG’s multi-division structure, with each division retaining its existing brand and customer relationships.
For Matodi customers, the company’s existing relationships, product offerings and machinery sales will continue.
“Matodi has always been built around our customers and finding the right solutions for their operations,” says Elliott Jones, president and owner of Matodi. “Joining SFTG gives our team additional resources and capabilities while allowing us to continue the relationships and level of service our customers have come to expect from Matodi. We see tremendous opportunity ahead, and we are excited about what our combined organizations will be able to accomplish.”
SFTG is a 100% employee-owned company, and Matodi employees will become part of the SFTG employee-owner family.
“One of the things that makes this especially meaningful is welcoming the Matodi team into our employee-owned organization,” says Reinhart. “Our employee-owners have a personal stake in the success of our customers and our company. We look forward to bringing the Matodi team into that culture and building the next chapter of our businesses together.”
Matodi will continue operating from its Greensboro location.
