Learn how to identify the most common types of graphical glass products. Come away with an understanding of performance characteristics of the various production methods and technologies. Finally, ensure you are able to provide the necessary source materials to the manufacturer in the correct format with required quality levels.

About the faculty: Bernard Lax originally began his college career studying to be an architect, but somewhere along the way, graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in marketing and advertising. As a result of this change, he began his career in the fashion industry, eventually owning and running a textile and fashion manufacturing facility up until 1995. In 1994 he decided to leave the fashion business and fell back on his passion for design and created a process for laminating glass and rice paper products for use in his own home. The result of this and continuing experiments is now Pulp Studio Inc.

A self-taught glass professional, Bernard Lax has pioneered and created one of the leading design and manufacturing facilities for specialty glass. Responding and supplying a growing international marketplace Pulp Studio continues providing a large variety of standard and custom products for both interior and exteriors glass applications.

He regularly speaks at trade-related seminars throughout the country and teaches independent courses for universities located in the Los Angeles area.

His understanding of the design process, the technical and structural aspects of glass and the ability to marry these elements with a creative input make him uniquely qualified to assist in the design and manufacturing phase of the most up-to-date glass technologies used in today’s construction and interior design industries.
